What type of brush should I use on my hair?

Is there a difference in the colours of the brushes?

Yes and No! We have a comprehensive range of colours for our Original Happy Hair paddle brushes, same brush but different colour as we know everyone has their favourite colour!  We also have sensory and vegan brushes which are different colours so they can easily be distinguished from the Original Happy Hair Brush. TheSensoryandVeganBrushes have been specifically designed on request by our customers. We listen to our customers to ensure everyone gets what they are asking for.

Is there a brush for people who are sensitive when brushing their hair?

Yes, there is! After lots of feedback from our customers we have created our Sensory Brush. Its longer pins are softer than in all our other brushes and help massage the scalp.

They reduce overstimulation or scratching of the scalp while the shorter bristles brush the hair.

The curve of the brush head provides a higher surface area to brush more of the head at once, which means less brush strokes and less brush to head contact.

This in turn significantly reduces the time needed to brush the hair which can be very important for people with sensory issues or ADHD.

We recommend this brush to people that are highly sensory, have extremely sensitive heads and or very thin hair. 

The Sensory Brushes are also good for children under 4 who have thin fine hair and have not had their first haircut. 

How is the mini-travel brush different?

The main differences between the Mini Brush and our Original Happy Hair Brush is the size, shape and material. The brush experience however is still very
similar as both brushes have been designed with our amazing bristle combination including natural boar bristles and nylon pins.

We designed this brush for 3 reasons:

1. To provide smaller children with a brush they can use to learn to brush their hair as the size allows smaller hands to grip the handle perfectly.

2. To provide a brush for men (yes, let’s not forget about them 😊). The Mini Brush is perfect for men as it is small enough for short hair and perfect to style and brush beards and moustaches.

3. To offer a brush for when you want to feel at home but are out and about. So if you are travelling, the Mini Brush is the perfect companion for anywhere you go. How are the boar bristles made?

We don’t just want happy people, we also care about the rest of the world so rest assured that no boars are harmed in the manufacturing of our brushes.

We have looked at making them entirely vegan, however have found that synthetic boar bristles or other substitute bristles just do not work as well on thin to medium thin hair.

Boar bristles evenly distribute natural oils from the scalp through the hair. These natural oils protect and condition hair. Natural boar bristles allow you to detangle your hair while massaging your scalp.

Another feature is that boar bristles do not damage your hair during brushing, hair doesn’t get fractured or split leaving it only beautiful and healthy.

You will find that after using our brushes for a few weeks, your hair looks and feels better and needs less washing and shampooing.

Can you use the brushes with a hairdryer or heat?

We want to be honest with you, we would not recommend using our brushes for serious blow drying as the long nylon pins can melt.
Many other hair brush companies state their brushes can be used for blow drying, but from our professional experience, if a brush contains nylon pins (and most do), these will melt over time if you use heat on them.

Can I use the brushes on wet hair?

How often should I replace my brush?

It’s hard to provide an exact time frame as it all depends on how our hair brushes are used. For healthy hair, we recommend each person in a household uses their own brush and for optimal hair you should brush your hair twice a day.  Based on that your hairbrush should last at least 18 months or longer. If you use one brush for 4 people brushing twice a day, the brush will last shorter. We also found that the life cycle of our hair brushes is impacted by using many different hair products ranging from styling products, nits products, dry shampoo etc.  The nylon tips can get affected when exposed to a mixture of chemicals and pH changes on the scalp. If you are dealing with nits, use a comb and designate one brush as a nit brush.

To extend the life of your hair brush, we recommend one brush is used for each person in the home and the hair brush is washed every month in cold water with a bit of shampoo or dishwashing liquid.

MY ORDER

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

We use Australia Post to ensure we can service metro locations as well as rural or remote regions.  

It takes 2 to 3 business days for delivery to metro and 3 to 10 business days for delivery to regional locations including Western Australia, Queensland, and Northern Territory.

Can I change my order?

We have all been there, you click the ‘Order Now’ button and then realise you have forgotten something or you want a different colour. If you change your mind after placing the order, please know that we now ship VERY FAST, so the order is likely to be fulfilled and ready for shipping within 15 minutes. We cant guarantee we can amend your order, but we can try. Pleasecontact usASAP so we can find a solution as our main goal is to ensure you are happy.

Can I track my order?

Yes, you can. You might not be able to track your kids, but you certainly can track our parcels 😊. We use Australia Post for shipping within Australia. Once we have received your order, you’ll get an email with an order confirmation and once the order is dispatched you will receive another email with a tracking number.

Where is my order?

We know our happy customer service representatives are really lovely to talk to, but in case your order hasn’t arrived yet, we’d be forever grateful if you could please check the below before contacting us:

1. Delivery times in our FAQ section

2. Your address on PayPal and the order – we have found that occasionally an old address is saved on a customers’ PayPal account, so the order is shipped to an old address. If that happens let us know before the order gets fulfilled, if you can. If it is too late, still contact us.
3. Please check with your local Post Office quoting the tracking number you have received in your confirmation email – occasionally the local post office has your delivery, but the parcel notification card got lost or has been placed in the wrong mailbox.

SHIPPING IN NEW ZEALAND

How much is shipping?

A $12.00 flat fee applies to orders under $99. We promise, this is less than it costs us to ship your precious goods to you.

For orders over $99 we offer free standard delivery across New Zealand. Shipping fees outside New Zealand might differ and will be advised during check out.

How long does it take to dispatch my order?

We are now shipping 2 times a day. So if you make your order and change your mind... we might have already shipped it so please choose carefully.

Orders placed on a weekend will be shipped first thing Monday morning.

Do you offer free click & collect?

We don’t operate a physical store as we are too busy designing amazing products – and sometimes running behind our kids – so cannot provide a click & collect option; however, we have an extensive network of salons who stock our products allowing you to buy some of our products directly from a store near you saving you shipping costs. Please visit our stockist locator to find the closest store near you. Please give them a ring before you visit to ensure they stock what you are after.

Do you ship overseas?

Yes we do, the shipping calculator works out costs as shipping is based on weight.

Shipping out of New Zealand for small parcels such as ours is more expensive than normal so we would recommend ordering with a couple of friends to split the costs of shipping.

Who is responsible for customs and duties?

International customers need to be aware that they are responsible for any customs and import duties on their order.

3. Please forward your proof of return to info@happyhairbrush.com.au. If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

4. If you paid customs and local country tax, email us the receipts.

5. Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

6. If the refund has been approved, our amazing customer support team will happily refund every cent you spent including:

• The purchase price
• Initial delivery as well as return shipping costs
• Any customs and local county tax

I still haven't received my refund, what should I do?

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank or payment method account again. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

My products have arrived damaged. What should I do?

We apologise, that rarely happens. If our products are defective in any way, please send us an email atinfo@happyhairbrush.com.auor get in touchhere. Our returns process is easy, you send us back the faulty products and we will send you new ones. We cover all postage of course. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

I changed my mind. Can I exchange my product?

We ship 3 times a day out of Sydney and the warehouse is super fast. So we’re sorry, we cant offer an exchange service for change of mind. Also, because this is a personal use product, once the product has been shipped, we deem it used. You can appreciate that other customers wouldnt want a hair brush or product that was returned. Spo, outside of our 30 Day Money Back Guarantee, we only offer the exchange of items if our products are faulty or damaged.

STOCK AVAILABILITY

I cannot find a product I have seen on socials. Can you help me?

We sure can! Our tech people are particularly smart and have managed a way to detect where you are located when visiting our site. As we started the business in Australia, we found that shipping overseas was very expensive and not very reliable for our customers (and us). So we have opened several new warehouses overseas but haven’t reached all places yet. As such, our product range might slightly differ depending on where you are located. We update our range frequently so if you cannot find what you’re looking for, pick a different colour, or if you specifically want something and cant wait, close your browser, and choose the Australian website as that site and warehouse has everything. Just keep in mind that we will ship from Australia and that might be a bit more expensive than shipping directly in your country.
